Modern door entry systems do not require a traditional phone line, and more sophisticated entry systems often use internet connections (wired or wireless) for communication and remote monitoring. Network IP intercom systems are more advanced and ideal for larger houses or office buildings. This type of system is connected to Wi-Fi in order to send notifications to phones or for video calls. A basic standalone system does not require any type of communication.
